    ABOUT PERFORMANCE FLOATS

    Performance Floats began in 2007 when father-and-son team Graeme and Richard Dowling decided to build a 2-horse float in their workshop. At the time, their workshop was located on their family property near Braidwood/Bungendore. After building the float successfully, the family duo decided to continue their work and build another, and another and another after that.

    Since starting the float manufacturing business, Graeme and Richard moved to a commercial workshop in Yass, NSW, where the business continued to expand. As a family, the Dowlings have more than three decades of experience in trucking and floating competition horses all around Australia. They also have 30 years in the manufacturing industry, building semi-trailers, truck bodies, tipping bodies, horsebacks and high-quality goosenecks. 

    NO TWO BODIES HAVE EVER BEEN THE SAME

    At Performance Floats, we custom build high-quality floats, goosenecks, horse trucks and custom leisure bodies. 

    Even though we have our standard float designs as an option to make it easier to buy a new float, no two trailers are mass produced and distributed. This means that you can receive a custom float that was built from the ground up, while still enjoying a hassle-free and easy buying experience. We deliver high standards of quality to ensure our customers are happy with the float they are transporting their much-loved horses in.
    CONTINUING GREAT WORK
    The Dowlings are still very active in the horse competition circuit. They live in one of their own goosenecks when competing, and they have a true understanding of what is involved and required when travelling with horses. The need to move horses so they arrive to the competition ready to compete is very important. The Dowlings recognise the need for great space utilisation, and they build trailers to ensure everything is accessible and well-secured.
